MySpace, the world’s 5th largest website, will be creating its own news aggragator and blog reader. As the slides explain, users will have the ability to rank, share and comment on news. Additionally, Fox/News Corp notes, that users no longer have to leave the site to consume news. Sure, Fox/News Corp is trying to compete with other large aggregators, mainly Yahoo, MSNBC, and AOL as you can see in the chart below (Source: Nielsen/NetRatings and PEJ):

I’m looking at ths chart and thinking, news companies should combine forces and create their own social news sites. With their users combined, they might have a shot at beating the aggragators at their own game. What do you think?
