Welcome to The Media Age.

I welcome everyone to this blog. This blog will provide a place for thought and analysis regarding business trends in the New Media world. I welcome active participation from readers. I started The Media Age to help people understand the business aspect of New Media

I recently founded an investment bank that focuses exclusively on industries that are undergoing rapid change. Our clients, in all parts of the media world, continue to ask “What is New Media” and “How do I participate in the New Media trend.” Interestingly, New Media is a technology and content focused industry. Companies from both industries must recognize that their world is dramatically changing. To be successful into the foreseeable future, technology and content must thrive hand in hand. I plan to show my readers how to maintain a competitive advantage in this rapidly changing world.

Why did I title the blog, The Media Age?

The Media Age signifies a time period in history that will witness the impact of finely targeted information. Since the invention of the printing press, we have mainly witnessed a one-to-many distribution system for media content. Today, with the power of technology, social networks and interconnectivity will increasingly become significant for content creators. This interconnectivity will support the growth of niche content that could have never existed ten years ago.
